ABOUT ME
My name is Soledad Gouiric-Cavalli, I was born on October 23, in San Juan, Argentina. I am a paleoichthyologist who works on marine and freshwater fishes that –during the Mesozoic– inhabited what is now Argentina and Antarctica. My main interest is to understand the evolutionary history of the Gondwana ichthyofaunas, particularly those of the Mesozoic of Argentina and Antarctica.
My work includes studies of Jurassic and Cretaceous marine fishes of Patagonia Argentina, freshwater fishes of the Triassic, Cretaceous, and Eocene of northwestern and Patagonia Argentina, marine fishes of the Miocene of northeastern and Patagonia Argentina, marine fishes of the Jurassic and Cretaceous of Antarctica and marine fishes of the Paleozoic of Argentina.
