Dr. Soledad Gouiric-Cavalli

Paleontologist and PhD dedicated mainly to the study of the evolution of marine Mesozoic fossil actinopterygians from Argentina and Antarctica. Soledad coordinates PaleoPeces. She is also a researcher at CONICET carrying her work at the División Paleontología Vertebrados of La Plata Museum, National University of La Plata. Soledad is also a teacher at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of La Plata and Museum.

Dr. Anyelo Vanegas-Ríos

Biologist focused on Biodiversity with a PhD in Natural Sciences and then granted as postdoctoral Fellow at CONICET (Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas de la República de Argentina). With expertise in the field of the Neotropical Ichthyology of freshwater fishes. Trained to carry out studies on taxonomy, phylogeny, and biogeography of ostariophysan fishes, especially in the order Characiformes and the family Characidae. I do my scientific activities as an Assistant Researcher at CONICET, within the "Sección de Ictiología, División de Zoología de Vertebrados, en el Edificio Anexo de la Facultad de Ciencias Naturales y Museo, Universidad Nacional de La Plata". Interested in promoting lines of research and training in fish systematics within my workplace. My immediate projects are oriented towards the study of the combined taxonomy and phylogeny of stevardiine fishes and to support related lines within the ichthyology and paleoichthyology. I've participated in scientific collaboration on diverse topics of regional ichthyology with different national and international researchers.

Dr. María Eugenia Raffi

Paleontologist and PhD in Geological Sciences (Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences, University of Buenos Aires) and postdoctoral researcher at CONICET (National Scientific and TechnicalResearch Council - Argentina). With expertise in systematic, biostratigraphic, and paleoecological studies of ammonoids, with an emphasis on the Upper Cretaceous of Antarctica. Currently, I carry out my research at the Centro Austral de Investigaciones Científicas (CADIC, CONICET) in the city of Ushuaia. In addition, I am an Assistant Professor at the Universidad Nacional Tierra del Fuego.
Since 2011, I´m actively doing Antarctic research within the frame of several projects. The research topics are based on the study of the Upper Cretaceous antarctic ammonoid fauna, particularly of the group of lytoceratids, reaching original and new results, which are very important for the knowledge of the diversity of lytoceratid ammonoids and for the understanding of paleobiological, paleobiogeographic and paleoecological phenomena in high latitudes of the Southern Hemisphere.
